Just the beginning...

June 18th is the big day. We find out our baby's gender that day. I'm fairly confidant we're having a girl, but Scott insists it's a boy. I guess we'll have to wait and see. We're four months pregnant. I'm due November 18th, we think. I feel movement, I've got my baby bump, and don't you know that I look GOOOOD in a bathing suit. One of those things is a lie...I'll let you decipher which it might be. :)

I've had 3 appointments with my doctor thus far and we have a heathy heartbeat and all seems to be going well. There are many, many tests to come, but kinda knowing what's coming (because of my previous pregnancy) has been a huge relief. It's nerve racking to not know what to expect. Not that I remember everything, Trenton is almost 5 years old, but I have a general idea, which is comforting.

I opted out of the tests they do to determine down syndrome and the chances of cystic fibrosis. They only test for those to give you the option of terminating the pregnancy. Since that's not an option for me, I don't need to know yet.

The sickness, extreme fatigue and other whatnot of the first trimester is mainly gone, but I still have my moments. It's not a magical portal you cross through the day you're done with your first trimester that means good times and you can eat anything. Smells still really bother me and my tastebuds are really sensitive. And I've started the 2nd trimester soreness. My poor ligiments are stretching and it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to get comfy and sleep at night. I miss sleeping on my tummy. :(

But, all-in-all, I feel good, baby is doing well and Daddy is pretty excited. Trenton has, multiple times, requested a brother. I'm not sure he understands we don't get the choice on what it is. I think he sees me as a baby vending machine because while watching TV last week, he requested a specific child on a commercial to be his brother. LOL.
