Anyway, so lots of people that I don't get to see too terribly often came. Which rocks. But also makes me feel guilty because I can't spend as much time as I want with everyone. I barely spoke to the Springsteads, I think. But that's ok because Krista's all skinny with her cute haircut and I can't be seen next to her right now. Anyhow, I also enjoyed talking about the physical awkwardness of grooming and Julie bellowing the word "placenta" out in the middle of the kitchen where people were eating, LOL. Greatness. These are the things that make gatherings worth going to.
The food was impressive. Amy out does herself everytime she throws one of these things. She made adorable signs, stamped little baby feet on the plates and napkins, and made diaper vases with flowers in them. So creative!! I get excited if I go a whole day without spilling something on myself. I am a lesser creature, obviously.
My favorite thing was the diaper cake. It was SOOO cute. I've never seen one as adorable as mine! Adorned with binkies, onsies, burp cloths and toys. The ribbons were perfect... I just loved it. It was impressive. I couldn't take it apart. It's in the nursery on the changing table. It's too pretty to destroy. I didn't even take the stuff off of it. Seems wrong that something so well done and pretty will literally get peed and/or pooped in. Almost depresses me. I am hormonal and can be depressed over whatever I want. :)
Before we showed up, I told Scott he had to open the gifts. His cluelessness amuses me. So him opening gifts and not knowing what they were was funny to me. So I made him open them then announce what they were. The pictures on the boxes helped, I think. ::Snicker::
We got a ton of great (and adorable) stuff. Trenton even got a couple things, too, which I appreciate beyond measure. That was so sweet and completely unnecessary, but he appreciates being included. In fact, he told me the other day that the baby didn't have any "cool toys". He immediately offered to give him some of his. What a great kid he is.
Anyway, there is still lots to be done. And lots to be bought. I am hitting craigslist and ebay pretty hard to save $$$. But we have a nursery. And bottles. And burps clothes and diapers and clothes and more than I imagined we'd have so I am super excited and momentously relieved.
So thanks to everyone. I am STILL working on thank you cards. But I have lots to say so give me time. :)

After the shower, we went home and unloaded then headed out to see Darryl Lee at Love and War. It was a good night. :)
