It's like Christmas... without those creepy elves...

This is what I came into today at work. Set up and waiting for me on my desk. SO FUN!! The big basket is baby gifts, the smaller basket on the ledge is gifts for Trenton and the bag was some YUMMY smelling bath gels and lotions just for me. Awesome! It was so very sweet of the Risk Management Team to do that for me and my family. I work with some seriously great people. I opted out of a work "shower" because there are LOTS of preggo women here and that gets expensive. Even if you only spend $20 on each gift, multiply that times 8 and everyone's pocketbooks take a serious hit. But they did this for me anyway which was so incredible. :) It was the perfect Monday surprise.

And I have to mention that on Friday, I got the coolest gift. Not to offend anyone else who got us something. We appreciate EVERYTHING! We had NOTHING! But this little gadget is the neatest thing. It's a video monitor so we can check on Baby Durb while he's sleeping in his crib. It has night vision. It has a 7 inch flat screen monitor. We played with it when I brought it home and it is COOL!! I am so excited about it. Every mommy knows about the undeniable urge to stare at your baby's back in the middle of the night to make sure it's breathing. This way, I can do so from bed in total darkness. Karen, you are the President of Planet Awesome!

AND, my wonderful sister-in-law sent us presents, too! I got the hamper that goes with our bedding. It sounds silly, but I wanted it BAD! It's SO cute. I love the little giraffe. We also got an adorable little fleece blanket with the giraffe and some sheets for our bassinet. We don't have the bassinet yet, but we will soon. We went to buy our play yard and bassinet this weekend, but, of course, they were out of the play yard I wanted. And we might as well buy them together. UGG! So if you're the person who bought the last graco novelle pack n play at the Babies R Us in Plano, I shake my fist and curse you!! But at least I have my cutsie hamper. I'll have to take pictures of our near complete nursery. It's cute. I love it. And we, yes we... Scott was forced to do lots of not so fun tasks on MY TIME CLOCK getting that nursery ready, worked hard on it. Scott maintains that I am the only one who cares about the way the nursery looks. Baby won't care, he doesn't particularly care about asthetics, but I do. And Trenton cares a little, I think. Mainly, because I do, lol.

We start our "Prepared Childbirth" classes tomorrow. Luckily, we're taking the class with Julie and Holt so it won't be boring. :) I am SO hoping there is a video. A graphic one. One made in the 70's. I think I would enjoy the guy's discomfort. :) Bwhahahaha. Evilness is a talent of mine. Plus, I saw one similar to what I just described last time I was pregnant and took these classes. And it's still with me. Not in a good way. ::Shudder::

So anyway... I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's almost over. The days of heartburn, physical misery, and Santa's physique are soon to be replaced with sleepless nights filled with crying, dirty diapers that boggle the mind, and an entire wardrobe of shirts stained with spit up or boob milk or both. I welcome the change.

I will be pregnant, for the last time in my life, for another month or so. Holy crap. If I could jump up and click my heels together, I so would. You'll just have to settle for knowing I am grinning ear to ear at this very moment.

I want one of those montiors to look in on my furbabies when I'm at not at home. I wonder how far away it works? I know, I'm weird. Anyway what a cool gift and great surprises from your work and siter in-law. I can't wait to hear that the little one is here and what his name is!
