By "queen", I mean the bed in our bedroom. Yes we only have a queen-sized bed. It was all I thought we needed. I bought it with sweet intentions. I wanted to be as close to my man as possible and we've been sleeping together on a queen since we met. Not literally since we met. I mean, we said hello and introduced ourselves first. LOL, I joke. Damn, I am hilarious. Not funny? You're disgusted now? Just wait. ::Snicker::
Moving on...
Carter was three weeks old as of yesterday. So weird how you can love someone you don't even know so much, isn't it? My favorite he does, thus far, is when he sneezes. Don't worry, I asked the doctor and infants sneezing is normal... he isn't sick. Anyway, his sneezes are so over the top. And afterward, he usually coos. I love those sweet baby sounds. We spent lots of time this morning while Daddy ran errands, just talking and cooing. He just stares with those big blue eyes and occasionally contributes a sweet little "whoooouuuu" or a heart "AH!!". It's so funny.
Carter's first Thanksgiving was fun. We did nothing, lol. It was too far to go see my family and Scott's family doesn't get together traditionally because they're so far apart. His dad's in Garland, mom and sister in law are in Kansas, and his brother was deployed at the end of October. So keeping him (and his wife and 2 daughters) in your prayers would be appreciated.
So, since we were home and I sure as hell wasn't up for cooking, we went out to the only place we knew to be open. Blackeyed Pea, lol. I'm not a fan of the Pea normally as I feel I'm about 40 years younger than the average person who attends regularly, but it was nice to be served and not have to worry about anything. And 3 of us got our turkey or ham and Carter had his first bottle. This was his first outing that wasn't the doctor's office.
Then yesterday, I braved Black Friday. WITH 2 kids. Ok, not really. I ONLY went to Garden Ridge for Christmas stuff and I made my mother go with me to help me wrangle the boys, but I was still proud of myself. (and thanks mom) AND we got lots of new fun Christmas stuff to decorate with. My Christmas stuff multiplies tremendously every year. I buy new stuff before and then afterward on sale that I forget about so each year it's a treat in itself to rediscover the new stuff I haven't used yet.
At the moment I am lying naked in bed listening to the Wallflowers 6th Avenue Heartache. TMI, I know. But I have a point so fight your gag reflex. I am alone. Trenton is with his Dad and Scott and Carter are downstairs watching the Tech game. ::Rolls eyes:: I asked him this morning if he really wanted to watch that game. "Aren't we over them, yet?" I asked in mock innocense (they were slaughtered last weekend). I believe he told me to watch my mouth and called me a dirty whore, LOL!! That's how we roll. Anyway, so all the boys are otherwise occupied. So I took a LONG shower. I deep conditioned. I shaved. I exfoliated. It was glorious. THEN, one of my favorite things to do after a shower or bath is dry my body off and towel dry my hair. Then I turn on the fan and lay naked in bed. It's the greatest feeling. Especially if your sheets are brand new and clean. Ahhhhh! So, I am taking full advantage of this rare moment of "me time". That was my point. HEY! I didn't say it was a good or important point... just that I had one.
Anyway, I am going to wallow here in bed for a few more minutes then I'm headed downstairs (yes, I'll probably put clothes on... undies at least) to try and figure out where I'm going to put all this Christmas... stuff. :) Then I think I'm going to hit the kitchen and cook up some yummies and make my husband have hot chocolate and cookies with me.
Enjoy the long weekend my friends!!
