Christmas ~ December 26th {for the Durbins this year at least!}

Since our festivities were put on hold for Trenton, we had our family Christmas today.  We opened the gifts Santa brought the boys this morning.  Lots of dancing around and yelling.  Super fun!  Trenton, of course, ripped through gifts and got excited about each one.  Carter would open a gift, get excited and play with it.  Which is awesome.... except he didn't want to open the NEXT gift.  Trenton got several of his beloved Ben 10 Ultimate Aliens and Spynet things (like a cool lie detector test), some games, an air hockey table game, some DS games, and a construction set he'd really wanted, along with a bunch of other things.  Carter got lots of cars and tractors, a little laptop, some puzzles, a bubble machine, a train and a ton of other stuff I can't recall at the moment.  {Please excuse my robe/jammies combo and my unbrushed hair and no makeup, lol}

 Then we headed over to Nana and Popaw's in Rockwall for Christmas with my family.

We got there around 1:30 and ate pretty much immediately.  I brought the greenbean casserole, but it was nothing compared to the hoopla my mom always makes.  SO.MUCH.FOOD.  Delicious.

Homemade Bread
 Smoked Turkey & Ham
 YUM!  Classic favorite!
 Spice Cake w/ Cream Cheese Icing
 Cinnamon & Peppermint Cookies

We drank mimosas and after some digestion time, we opened gifts.

Each of the boys got a MASSIVE amount of great toys, Scott got a gift card to upgrade his iphone to the new version, and I got a new kindle reader!  I'm pretty much in LOVE with my kindle already.  I read a LOT on my lunch breaks.  I get into books and find it hard to put them down after an hour of reading.  Finding a park and reading in the middle of the day saves my sanity some days.  Anyway, now I don't have to waste 20 minutes of my lunch break at the Target by my office picking and buying a book from their limited selection.

We all opened our gifts from Trenton, the favorite {at least, of mine} gift tradition each year.  I take him to the Dollar Tree {where everythings $1} and let him pick a gift for each family member in my family all on his own.  This year my favorites were Scott's glow-in-the-dark hatchet and Richard's purple frisbee.  SUCH a sweetie.  He spends SO much time on our shopping trip really trying to get people something they'll like.

After that, it was pretty much football, the boys running through the house, and dessert snacking.  Oh, and the boys dragging Popaw into the den so they could play on Nana and Popaw's slot machine.  Yes, they have a genuine casino slot machine in their den.  A slot machine that is made for a casino... as in volume.... like... loud as HECK!  Did I mention it's in Jananese?  No?  Well, it is.  So randomly, we aren't sure why because the text is also in Japanese, it starts SCREAMING in Japanese, seizure inducing lights flash insanely and the video display goes nuts, lol.  The kids love that.  It's pretty funny.

Today was a good day.  Now, I have the rest of the week to enjoy with my boys and my friends.  I have some pretty awesome things on the agenda.  :)  More on that later....
