The Snowman

The number of legs a spider has.

It looks the same upside down and right side up.

On its side, it's the symbol for infinity.

It's a homophone (remember the old joke, Why was six afraid of seven? Because seven ate nine.)

It's the number of notes in an octave.
In chess, each side has eight pawns.

It's a lucky number in Chinese culture because it sounds like the word "prosper".
Eight.
The Snowman. Trenton the Snowman. Trenton is almost EIGHT.

::shakes head:: Doesn't really seem possible. He should still be watching Elmo and announcing "IT'S SUNNY" at my bedside the INSANT the sun rises.
But facts are facts. Even though his birthday isn't until the 30th, we had his birthday party yesterday, Sunday, the 12th. Scheduling and travel having a huge impact on this.
I rented a pavillion at the Tom Muehulenbeck Center in Plano. The kids had free reign over all the outdoor pools and slides AND indoor pools and slides. It was pretty awesome. Regardless of age, you're pretty much assured entertainment.

I did candles and singing first {about 15 minutes after party start time} so the kids could then run wild the rest of the time.  I didn't want to march all over the place looking for party guests later to gather for singing.  This way was MUCH easier.  So we did that before they ever got in the water and it was smooth sailing from there.  Everyone had fun, I think.  Carter is a water baby for SURE.  He LOVED it.  I threw snacks and cupcakes on the table, left coolers full of beverage in the pavillion, and I walked around taking pictures.  Everyone was free to come and go as they pleased.

Since we only had the pavillion for 2 hours and I KNEW we'd be there longer, we "saved" another table in the public area.  We were the first people in the gate {because we had to set up} so we sneakily took a cooler and some towels and left them on a shaded table in the public area so when we had to move at 3 o'clock, we'd still have a shady place for us to sit, lol.  Worked out perfectly.  :)

After all the guests left around 4:30, we packed it up and headed home.  Nana and Popaw came with us to watch Trenton open presents.  We never do this AT parties with him.  Older kids don't want to sit around and see what someone else is getting.  So we just take them home and open them.

Trenton got LOTS of awesome stuff.  Video spywatch {this thing is awesome}, games, giftcards, Ben 10 aliens, and from Scott and I, an xbox 360 with kinect.  And from Carter, the Kung Fu Panda kinect game.  He LOVED playing this game last night, lol.  And it was fun to watch.

Anyway, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here's Trenton's birthday party in pictures.

:) Thanks! Birthday's are a HUGE deal to me. They're holidays. I try to make each one different and memorable... even if it's just me who remembers, lol.
